Nasyam is a therapeutic treatment in Ayurveda that involves administering medicated oils or herbal extracts through the nasal passages. This therapy is effective in treating a variety of conditions related to the head and neck, including sinusitis, migraines, and respiratory disorders.
Benefits
Benefits: Nasyam helps to clear the nasal passages, remove accumulated doshas (imbalances), and eliminate toxins from the head region. It improves breathing, enhances mental clarity, and relieves headaches and congestion.
Procedure: The treatment begins with a gentle massage of the head, neck, and face using warm oil to prepare the area and improve circulation. After the massage, the patient lies down with their head tilted back, and the medicated oil or herbal extract is carefully administered into each nostril. The patient is then encouraged to inhale deeply to allow the medicine to reach the deeper tissues and sinus cavities. The session is usually followed by a steam inhalation to further clear the nasal passages.
Duration: A typical Nasyam session lasts about 30 to 45 minutes. The therapy may be recommended for 7 to 14 days, depending on the condition being treated.
Precautions: Our skilled doctors ensure proper technique and dosage. It is generally not recommended for people with acute respiratory infections, severe nasal congestion, or during pregnancy.
